Like many self-taught artists, picking up a paint brush again, has been a dream to fulfil, once the busy life of running a business and supporting a family then quietens. Time is a luxury I now have on my side, and it’s given me the energy and freedom to explore, and have fun on the canvas.

I enjoy starting a project, and as it comes together, playing with light, vibrant colours and technique. Much of my work has a strong textural element, with paint applied thickly with visible brushstrokes, creating a sense of movement and depth. Choppy brush strokes, expressive lines, and wavey directions create a depth and movement to the artwork.

Drone Photography and visualising all the colours of a landscape from above, has also inspired my love and use of pointillism technique. Although a slow and detailed process, the unfolding use of thick dotted colour meticulously planned, brings together a unique piece every time.

My very “Rustic” studio is set up on the family farm at Smiths Beach Western Australia where I grew up. There is always a fondness creating artwork where the senses are alive, and memories are dear; and of course, surrounded by nature's paradise as my greatest inspiration.
